This research by the National Children’s Bureau highlighted the experiences and perspectives of children missing from school rolls and without access to appropriate alternatives, including home education.

By focusing on a specific and largely hidden population of young people, it gave further insights into how disadvantage affects different people and communities throughout the life course, and provided recommendations for a number of Government departments to improve responses and support structures.
