Historical Review of Place
Eliza Buckley, Marilyn Taylor
2017
Commissioned from the institute of Voluntary Action Research (IVAR), this report presents the findings from an historical review of place-based approaches to change.
It provides an overview of analysis and learning from over 200 pieces of literature on place based approaches over the past 50 years – both government and foundation-sponsored – mainly in the UK but also in the US, Europe, Canada and Australia. Its aim was to help inform Lankelly Chase’s thinking about the role it could play in place-based systems change work.
